Processing Charges and Refund Policy

Article Processing Charges (APC)

The International Journal of Education, Society and Policy (IJESP) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal. To ensure the sustainability of the publication process and maintain high editorial and publishing standards, the journal charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) for manuscripts that are accepted for publication.

The APC is used to support:

  • Editorial administration and manuscript management
  • Double-blind peer-review management
  • Professional copyediting and language editing
  • Typesetting and layout formatting
  • DOI registration and Crossref metadata submission
  • XML and metadata preparation
  • Online publication and open-access dissemination
  • Website hosting and maintenance
  • Digital preservation and long-term archiving
  • Indexing support and metadata distribution

Current Article Processing Charge

USD 650 per accepted manuscript

The APC is payable only after the manuscript has been accepted following the journal's editorial and peer-review process.

No fee is charged for:

  • Manuscript submission
  • Initial editorial assessment
  • Peer review
  • Editorial decision
  • Revision process

Payment instructions are sent only after a formal acceptance decision has been issued by the Editorial Office.

Payment Policy

The APC must be paid before the article enters the production stage.

Production includes copyediting, typesetting, proof preparation, DOI registration, metadata deposition, and final online publication.

Accepted manuscripts will proceed to publication only after confirmation of the APC payment.

Payments are processed through the payment methods specified by the Editorial Office. Authors are responsible for any applicable bank transfer charges, currency conversion fees, or transaction charges imposed by their financial institution.

Refund Policy

The APC is intended to recover the costs associated with editorial handling and publication services provided after manuscript acceptance.

Accordingly, the following refund policy applies:

  • APC payments are non-refundable once production activities have commenced.
  • No refund will be granted if authors withdraw their manuscript after acceptance.
  • No refund will be granted if publication is delayed due to authors' failure to submit corrected proofs, copyright documents, or other required publication materials within the prescribed time.
  • If duplicate payment is made, the excess amount will be refunded after verification.
  • In exceptional circumstances where publication cannot proceed due to reasons solely attributable to the journal, the Publisher may, at its sole discretion, approve a full or partial refund.

Refund requests must be submitted in writing to the Editorial Office and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Waiver Policy

IJESP is committed to promoting equitable access to scholarly publishing.

Requests for full or partial APC waivers may be considered for authors from low-income countries or in cases of demonstrated financial hardship.

Waiver requests must be submitted before or at the time of manuscript submission. Requests made after editorial acceptance or after payment has been completed will generally not be considered.

The editorial evaluation and peer-review process are conducted independently of APC payments or waiver requests. Editorial decisions are based exclusively on the scholarly merit, originality, methodological quality, and relevance of the submitted manuscript.

Transparency and Editorial Independence

Payment of the APC does not guarantee acceptance for publication.

Every manuscript undergoes the journal's standard editorial screening and independent double-blind peer-review process. Acceptance decisions are based solely on academic quality, originality, ethical compliance, and the recommendations of expert reviewers.

The APC is requested only after a final editorial acceptance decision has been made.
