Statement on the Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI)
The International Journal of Education, Society and Policy (IJESP) recognizes the growing use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) tools in academic research and writing. The journal supports the responsible and transparent use of such technologies while maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and scholarly authorship.
Authors may use Generative AI tools (such as AI-assisted writing or language editing tools) to support the preparation of their manuscripts. However, these tools should be used only to improve language clarity, grammar, or readability, and not to generate substantive scientific content, analysis, or conclusions without proper human oversight.
Authors are fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of all content in their submitted manuscripts, including any parts that may have been supported by AI tools. The use of Generative AI must not result in plagiarism, fabricated data, or misleading information.
If Generative AI tools have been used in the preparation of the manuscript, authors should clearly disclose this in a statement within the manuscript, typically in the Acknowledgements or a dedicated disclosure section.
Generative AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors, as they cannot take responsibility for the content, approve the final manuscript, or fulfill the ethical responsibilities required of authors.
Editors and reviewers may also use AI-assisted tools in a limited manner to support the editorial process; however, they must ensure that the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts is fully protected.
The International Journal of Education, Society and Policy encourages transparency and responsible use of AI technologies while ensuring that all published research reflects genuine scholarly contribution and ethical research practices.
