Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to the International Journal of Education, Society and Policy (IJESP) undergo a rigorous, transparent, and ethical double-blind peer review process to ensure the highest standards of academic quality, originality, and relevance.

Type of Peer Review

IJESP follows a double-blind peer review system, where:

  • The identity of authors is not disclosed to reviewers

  • The identity of reviewers is not disclosed to authors

Peer Review Workflow

1. Initial Editorial Screening (1–3 Days)

  • Manuscripts are checked for:

  • Submissions not meeting requirements are rejected at this stage

2. Assignment to Editor

  • Suitable manuscripts are assigned to a handling editor with subject expertise

  • The editor evaluates the manuscript’s academic relevance

3. Reviewer Selection

  • Each manuscript is sent to at least two independent expert reviewers

  • Reviewers are selected based on:

    • Subject expertise
    • Research experience
    • No conflict of interest

4. Peer Review Evaluation (2–4 Weeks)

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on:

  • Originality and contribution to knowledge

  • Methodological rigor

  • Clarity and structure

  • Relevance to journal scope

Reviewers provide constructive, unbiased, and confidential feedback ()

5. Decision Process

Based on reviewer reports, the editorial decision may be:

  • Accept
  • Minor Revision

  • Major Revision

  • Reject

Authors are required to submit revised manuscripts with detailed response to reviewers’ comments

6. Final Decision (Within 1 Week After Review)

The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision based on:

  • Reviewer recommendations
  • Editorial evaluation

  • Compliance with journal standards

Review Timeline

  • Initial screening: 1–3 days

  • Final decision: within 4–6 weeks

Confidentiality and Ethics

  • All submitted manuscripts are treated as confidential documents
